The Challenge

01

Heavy lift plans created once and reused

The first module lift plan is thorough. By module 30 the crew is using the same plan for different weights, different crane positions, and different wind conditions.

02

Fall protection gaps during stacking

The gap between module set and permanent guardrail installation creates fall exposure. Temporary fall protection is required but rarely documented per module level.

03

Temporary bracing not tracked to completion

Every module needs temporary bracing until permanent structural connections are made. With 40 modules being set over 2 weeks, tracking which braces are installed and which are still needed is chaos.

04

Transport safety documentation missing

Oversized load permits, escort requirements, route surveys, and flagging plans for module transport are separate from construction safety. Nobody owns transport safety documentation.

The POD Advantage

Voice-logged lift safety checks

Per-pick safety records

Before every crane pick, the signal person speaks the lift details — module weight, crane configuration, wind speed, rigging inspection. POD creates a pick-specific lift record.

Fall protection tracking by level

Level-by-level fall protection

Document fall protection status for every module level — temporary guardrails, safety nets, tie-off points. POD shows which levels have gaps before crews access them.

Temporary bracing checklist

Bracing compliance

Every temporary brace tracked from installation through removal when permanent connections are verified. POD prevents upper modules from being set on unbraced connections.

Transport safety integration

Complete transport safety

Oversize permits, escort assignments, route surveys, and delivery safety plans documented alongside construction safety in one platform.

Modular Construction Safety

“We were stacking the third floor and realized nobody had installed the temporary bracing on the second floor connections. 80,000 lbs sitting on unbraced connections. POD would have flagged the bracing checklist before the next pick.”
