The Challenge

01

Wire run lists diverge from as-built conditions

Engineering wire run lists show the design. As-built conditions change during installation. Paper lists get hand-marked but the final as-built documentation is never clean.

02

Relay test records scattered across forms

Each relay needs multiple tests — pickup voltage, dropout voltage, timing, and contact resistance. Paper forms for 96 relays create stacks of documents that cannot be cross-referenced.

03

Insulation resistance readings not trended

Insulated joint resistance must be measured and documented. Paper readings cannot show whether a joint is degrading over time because historical data is buried in filing cabinets.

04

Circuit plan verification is a one-time event

Signal circuit plans are verified once during cutover. Post-cutover modifications are hand-drawn on field copies. The official circuit plans drift from reality within months.

The POD Advantage

Voice-documented wire landings

Real-time as-built records

Speak each wire landing as you terminate it — wire number, terminal designation, cable ID. POD builds the as-built wire list in real time as installation progresses.

Relay test tracking

Complete relay records

Every relay test result linked to the specific relay by location and function. All test parameters in one record — pickup, dropout, timing, contacts — searchable by relay or location.

Resistance trend tracking

Predictive maintenance

Insulated joint and track circuit resistance readings trended over time. POD shows degradation patterns that predict failures before they create signal false-proceeds.

Living circuit plan verification

Current circuit plans

Field modifications documented as they happen and linked to the circuit plan. POD maintains the as-modified record so circuit plans never drift from reality.

Signal System Intelligence

“We found a wire landed on the wrong terminal during testing. The paper wire run list showed the correct terminal but the actual wire was one position off. If we had voice-documented each wire landing, we would have caught it during installation.”
