Reports & Timeline Playback

POD transforms your daily reports into a navigable project history. Explore report tabs, cadence modes, and the Project DVR feature.

Report Tabs Overview

Your project report is organized into nine tabs, each focusing on a different aspect of project performance. Switch between tabs to see the KPIs and visualizations relevant to that category.

Overview

High-level project health, key metrics, and summary cards.

Schedule

Milestones, critical path, float analysis, and earned schedule.

Budget

Cash flow, cost breakdown, change orders, and variance analysis.

Safety

EMR, TRIR, LTIR, near misses, inspections, and safety observations.

Labor

Headcount, crew ranking, labor by trade, absenteeism, and overtime.

Equipment

OEE, utilization, maintenance compliance, and idle time tracking.

Quality

Inspection pass rates, audit scores, NCRs, punch list, and defects.

Insights

AI-generated analysis, trend detection, and recommendations.

Weather

Weather impact on schedule, weather days, and forecasted conditions.

Tip: The Overview tab gives you the most important metrics from every category on a single screen. Start here for a quick pulse check, then drill into specific tabs for details.

Cadence Modes

Cadence modes control the time aggregation of your data. Switch between modes to see your project at different zoom levels.

Daily — One day at a time. The default view for daily reports. Shows the most granular data.

Weekly — Aggregates seven days. Great for weekly progress meetings and trend spotting.

Monthly — Month-level summaries. Ideal for monthly owner reports and billing cycles.

Annual — Year-over-year view. Useful for long-duration projects and portfolio comparisons.

Complete — Entire project history in one view. Shows cumulative data from start to today.

Note: Switching cadence modes does not change your underlying data — it only changes how the data is grouped and displayed. Your daily reports remain intact regardless of the cadence you choose.

Timeline Playback — The Project DVR

Timeline Playback is one of POD's most powerful features. It lets you "rewind" your project to any day in its history and see exactly what the dashboard looked like on that date. Think of it as a DVR for your project.

POD creates a daily snapshot every time new data is uploaded. These snapshots form a navigable timeline that you can scrub through, auto-play, or jump to specific dates.

Five Timeline Modes

Day-by-Day Scrub — Step forward or backward one day at a time.

Auto-Play — Watch your project evolve automatically at adjustable speed.

Metric Focus — Track a single KPI across the entire project timeline.

Comparison View — Compare two dates side by side to see what changed.

Photo Timeline — Browse project photos chronologically with map pins.

Important: Timeline Playback requires at least two daily snapshots to function. Upload daily reports consistently to build a rich project history.

Using the Timeline Scrubber

The timeline scrubber is a horizontal bar at the bottom of the report view. It represents your project's full date range from first upload to today.

Drag the scrubber handle to move to any date. The dashboard updates in real time.

Key event markers appear as dots on the timeline — milestones, incidents, weather events, and major changes.

Click any marker to jump directly to that date and see the context.

KPI values animate smoothly as you scrub between dates, making trends visually obvious.

Use the keyboard arrow keys for precise day-by-day stepping.

Tip: Share a deep link to a specific date by copying the URL while the timeline is set to that day. Recipients will land on the exact same snapshot.

Understanding POD Insights

POD Insights is the AI layer that continuously analyzes your project data. Specialized AI agents monitor different aspects of your project and surface findings as notifications, warnings, and recommendations.

The Insights tab in your report shows all AI-generated analysis for the selected date or period. Each insight includes:

Finding — What the AI detected — a trend, anomaly, threshold breach, or pattern.

Context — Why it matters — the potential impact on your project.

Recommendation — What to do about it — a specific, actionable suggestion.

Confidence — How certain the AI is about the finding, based on data quality and quantity.

Note: POD Insights gets smarter over time. The more data you upload, the more patterns the AI can detect and the more accurate its recommendations become.

Narrative Bars

Narrative bars are AI-generated text summaries that appear at the top of each report tab. They provide a plain-language description of what happened on the selected date, written by the Executive Narrator AI agent.

Each narrative bar is tailored to its tab's focus area. For example, the Safety tab's narrative might read:

"Zero recordable incidents today. Near-miss reports are up 15% this week, which is a positive sign — your crews are actively identifying hazards before they become incidents. PPE compliance held at 98%. Consider recognizing the electrical crew for their consecutive safe-day milestone."

Narrative bars are particularly useful for executives and clients who need a quick summary without diving into individual KPI cards.
