Standalone grid storage lives or dies on the interconnection and the commissioning sequence that clears it for first charge. A generic construction report shows a percentage and hides the two things that decide COD — whether the commissioning tests are passing the first time, and whether the schedule is still holding the energization date. A battery build has to report the enclosures, the PCS, the thermal and fire scope, and every test, the day it happens.

What a battery day has to carry

Enclosures & DC blocks

Containers set on their pads, racks landed, modules installed, and the DC blocks wired. A battery site is a yard of identical enclosures — the report has to say which are built, which are wired, and which are live.

PCS & MV interconnection

Power conversion skids, medium-voltage collection, the transformer, and the utility tie. The interconnection is the milestone the whole schedule bends toward — and the one the utility controls.

Thermal & fire suppression

Enclosure HVAC, temperature-sensor commissioning, and the fire-suppression system. Thermal is a battery site’s defining scope — logged daily, it is your paper trail if a site is ever inspected.

Commissioning & energization

DC and AC tests, protection settings, the utility witness test, and first charge. Energization is a test sequence, not a checkbox — POD tracks each result against the COD date.
