Two numbers run a solar plant

Yield is the revenue. Performance ratio is how much of the available sun you actually captured. A clean array on a clear day should hit its P50. When it does not, the cause is usually small and quiet — soiling building on the west rows, one inverter derating in the heat, a string offline since Tuesday. The O&M report is the record of what the plant produced, what held it back, and what you did about it.

What an O&M report captures

A generic maintenance log holds none of these. A solar O&M report has to.

MWh produced against the P50 forecast — the number the asset manager and the lender both read first, day by day.

Performance ratio & availability

PR, plant availability, and which blocks were curtailed or down — the health of the array behind the headline yield.

Inverter & string faults

Inverter derates and trips, offline strings, combiner alarms — the faults that quietly bleed a percent of yield if left open.

Solar O&M reporting questions

A solar PV O&M report is the daily operating record of a running solar farm: energy produced versus the P50 forecast, performance ratio, plant availability, soiling loss, inverter and string faults, and the corrective work orders behind them. It is the record an asset manager, a lender, and the O&M contractor all read.
