Getting Started

Go from sign-up to your first safety dashboard in under five minutes. This guide walks you through every step.

Welcome to Plan of Day

Plan of Day (POD) is a construction daily reporting platform that turns your morning standup data into beautiful, actionable dashboards. Upload an Excel file, a PDF, a photo of a handwritten form, or even a voice recording — POD's AI analyzes it all and maps every field to the right KPI automatically.

Whether you manage one jobsite or a portfolio of projects, POD gives you real-time visibility into safety, schedule, budget, labor, equipment, and quality — all from a single daily report.

Tip: POD stands for "Plan of Day" — the morning standup document your teams already create. POD simply makes it smarter.

Creating Your Account

Setting up your account takes less than a minute.

1

Visit the sign-up page

Navigate to planofday.com/waitlist and enter your work email address.
2

Confirm your email

Check your inbox for a confirmation link. Click it to activate your account.
3

Set your password

Choose a strong password. POD supports single sign-on (SSO) with Google and Microsoft for enterprise accounts.
4

Complete your profile

Add your name, company, and role. This information helps POD customize your dashboard permissions and default views.

Setting Up Your First Project

After sign-up, the onboarding wizard walks you through creating your first project. You can also create projects later from the dashboard.

1

Name your project

Give your project a clear name (e.g., "Goose Harbor Lake Wind Farm"). You can add a project number, location, and client name.
2

Choose your industry template

POD offers templates tailored to dozens of construction sectors — solar, wind, highway, commercial, residential, and more. The template pre-selects the KPIs most relevant to your work.
3

Invite your team

Add team members by email. Assign roles: Admin, Superintendent, Foreman, Subcontractor, or Client (read-only). Each role sees the data appropriate to their responsibilities.
4

Upload your first file

Drag and drop an existing daily report. POD accepts Excel, CSV, PDF, images, and voice recordings. See the Uploading Files guide for details.
Note: Not ready to upload real data? Choose Demo Mode instead — POD fills your project with realistic sample data so you can explore every feature.

Demo Mode vs Your Own Data

POD offers two ways to get started:

Demo Mode

  • Instant sandbox with realistic sample data
  • Explore every dashboard, report, and feature
  • No commitment — great for evaluating POD
  • Switch to real data anytime

Your Own Data

  • Upload your existing daily reports
  • AI maps your columns to KPIs automatically
  • See your real project data in minutes
  • Coverage score shows data completeness
Tip: We recommend starting with Demo Mode to familiarize yourself with the platform, then switching to your own data when you're ready.
