DART rate = (DART cases × 200,000) ÷ hours worked. A DART case is a recordable injury that caused days away from work, restricted duty, or a job transfer. It is a narrower, more severe subset than total recordables, so DART is always at or below TRIR. The construction average is roughly 1.5.
