Most of the market covers most of these modules. The buying decision is no longer about which boxes are on the feature list. It is about what the software does with what you put in it, and that is the subject of the rest of this guide.

The shift

System of record vs. system of intelligence

Almost every construction management platform built in the last twenty years is a system of record. It gives you a structured place to put things: a drawing set, a daily log, an RFI, a pay app. That was a real advance over the shared drive and the three-ring binder, and it is why the incumbent system of record is so entrenched. But storing a document is not the same as understanding it.
